You are a successful veterinary business owner. You have a highly skilled and competent team but you may feel that they are not reaching their fullest potential. Your team may have lost their drive and motivation and are experiencing communication breakdown from time to time. Ultimately, how you treat each other reflects on how you treat your clients. When your internal culture is struggling, you cannot hide it, it will be revealed one way or another.

Team engagement is critical for the success of your business. As a business leader you should be asking: "How do I truly make a difference?" Employees are not told what to do anymore. You need to engage your team and assist them in reaching their goals. You do not direct, you do not dictate, but rather you should strive to inspire and empower!

Objectives of the Programme

A team is a living, dynamic entity with its own personality, vision, rules and blind spots. Individual performance is dependent on the team environment. Moreover, high individual performance by one or more people in a team doesn’t necessarily lead to high performance overall – indeed, sometimes the opposite may be the case.

The Build a Winning Team Programme is primarily aimed at:

  • • Fostering genuine connections between team members and encouraging deeper discussions.
  • • Engendering a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • • Creating a deeper sense of ownership for the business and strong feelings of involvement and commitment.
  • • Building personal skills such as communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • • Improving personal and team performance.

Businesses with high team engagement have higher levels of those factors that drive success: customer satisfaction, high productivity, and business profitability.

What will happen in this programme?

This programme is a combination of an interactive workshop followed by a number of group coaching sessions.

The workshop includes interactive exercises that are fun and help participants relax and engage with each other. Fun activities help people see each other in a different light by allowing them to connect in a different setting. People in your team are asked to think about the implications of these activities at their workplace.

Team bonding activities improve teamwork, communication, problem solving and conflict resolution. After completing team building activities together, employees better understand each others strengths, weaknesses, and interests. This understanding will help them work even better together, something vital for any business.

In some cases it is recommended to follow with a number of face to face or virtual team coaching sessions after the workshop. This may be particularly important if:

  • • a new team is being formed and needs to deliver results immediately.
  • • a team is not working as effectively as it could, and the team leader and team members agree that they want to do better.
  • • a long-established team has lost its initial enthusiasm and wants to regain it.

Team coaching has recently developed as a practical way to apply the principles of coaching to the team as an entity. It enables the team to:

  • • Create an environment of emotional safety and build deeper levels of trust and higher quality of collaboration.
  • • Recognize and value the contribution each member can make at their best.
  • • Improve the effectiveness of communication, between team members and with customers.
  • • Gain greater clarity and a common purpose around priorities – what’s most important for the team to achieve all together.
  • • Manage the potential for conflict constructively.

The programme gives you the tools and insights you need to communicate more clearly and persuasively with everyone on your team. The exercises facilitate team bonding by fostering genuine connections and deeper discussions.

One or two day workshop followed by monthly group coaching sessions

(face to face or via video conference)
