Patient and Owner: Two sides of the coin
A seminar held on March 3 & 4, organized by IVSA Thessaloniki and IVSA Thessaly in cooperation with Gerolymatos International Vet in Greece.
How often have you encountered any of the following problems?
– Your patient on the examination table is not cooperative, making your job difficult and even dangerous
– The anxiety of the owner aggravates the anxiety of the animal
– The owner does not follow your instructions and then complains that the treatment is ineffective
– You are not sure how to convince the owner of the importance of medication or clinical nutrition
Elaborating on all these issues to an audience of over 150 veterinary students were speakers Christos Karagiannis and Elli Kalemtzaki, who shared their most important tips and techniques for better managing patients’ behavior and for obtaining owners’ compliance.
Skilled communication with patient and owner allows veterinary practitioners to:
– have more cooperative patients and clients
– be more convincing in recommending a treatment or product to owners
– improve the compliance of owners and thus improve the health of patients
The invited speakers:
